UC Davis Center for Nutrition in Schools Attends & Presents at the 7th Annual CalFresh Healthy Living Forum

This February, UC Davis Center for Nutrition in Schools' staff attended and presented at the 7th Annual CalFresh Healthy Living Forum in Garden Grove. This forum brings together CalFresh Healthy Living partners from all over California to learn, share, and be inspired to engage and empower communities throughout the state.

The California Department of Social Services and its state partners hosted and designed the forum in order to provide workshops, training sessions, learning labs, a poster session, and powerful and diverse keynote speakers. Attendees and hosts of the forum included the California Department of Public Health, the California Department of Aging, Catholic Charities of California, and CalFresh Healthy Living, University of California.

Staff from CNS partnered with CalFresh Healthy Living, UC to provide a learning lab titled “Lesson Adaptations for Learner-Centered Success.” In this session, participants learned how small tweaks could make lessons more learner-centered and engaging, followed by hands-on experience in which they could immediately apply what they learned by making their own modifications to existing lessons. The session ended up being so popular that there was standing-room only!

In addition to the learning lab, CNS shared curriculum and resources at an information table. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello!
