Stay Active during the Cold and Rainy Season
As the cool and rainy️ weather comes in with the new season, don’t let it put a damper on your physical activity routine! It’s important to stay active because engaging in physical activity regularly can help reduce the risks of health conditions such as obesity and heart disease. With the weather changing, it makes it difficult to go out! However, you can fight the rain and the cold by doing indoor activities in the comfort of your own home! Below are some ideas to get started:
- Flexibility exercises: Increase your body’s range of motion for daily movement and prevent injuries! Some ideas can include stretching your hamstring, shoulders, neck, wrist and ankles!
- Aerobic exercises: Increase your heart rate! By increasing your heart rate, it can keep your circulatory system and heart healthy! Try jumping rope or doing some housework such as mopping the floor or vacuuming!
- Strength exercises: Strengthening your muscles can help with everyday activities! Instead of using equipment you can use your own body weight! Some examples are crunches, push-ups and lunges.
